"FIRST AID" TREATMENT FOR A "DAMAGED" SD CARD

Just 3 days after I bought an 8-Gb SD card for my Tecno Y2 Android
phone, I got this notification : "SD card damaged. Format card now". I
couldn't format the card after several attempts. The SD card is not
even showing up anymore on my phone's File Manager. I removed and
re-inserted the card in my phone to no avail. Will my ₦2,000 go down
the drain just like that?
The second day, I inserted the SD card into my other phone, a Nokia
Asha 210. It showed up on the phone's Gallery and I was able to format
it on that phone. I returned the SD card to Tecno Y2 and it appeared
and functioned normally.
Lessons
1. Not all phones can format an SD card. Try my "First Aid treatment "
above before rushing off to where you bought the card to return it.
2. Every phone has its unique advantage. What if I had sold my Asha
210 because it can no longer browse?

Which kind of mother is this?

Tragedy struck on Friday in Asaba, Delta State, when a 37-year-old
housewife, Maureen Akowe, a graduate of sociology from the state-owned
university allegedly lost her four-month-old baby to her dog.

It was gathered that the four- month-old baby was driven in the
mother's car alongside the dog to a popular supermarket along Okpanam
Road, Asaba, where the housewife had gone for shopping for the baby's
upkeep.
Reports say the unsuspecting nursing mother left the baby, a nanny and
the dog inside the car and wound down the windows to allow ventilation
into the car before moving into the supermarket.
LEADERSHIP Sunday gathered from witnesses that while she was busy
shopping, the dog allegedly made straight for the little baby to eat
her up while the nanny screamed for help but all to no avail.
The shouts by the nanny attracted two security personnel at the
supermarket to the car but by which time the baby, identified as
Chinonso, had been bitten severally on the stomach by the dog, leaving
the baby in a pool of blood.
The dog had gone wild and was barking menacingly to scare onlooker by
the time the baby's mother got wind of the development and rushed to
the scene.
The baby was taken to a nearby hospital along Nnebisi Road, but it was
too late by the time they got to the hospital as the baby, the woman's
first child, had already died.
The efforts of the helpers who had wanted to rescue the little baby
failed as the baby gave up the ghost before getting to the hospital.
Speaking with the nanny who claimed to have hailed from one of the
states in the eastern part of the country and did not want her name in
the print said "Madam carry the dog and baby and asked us to stay
inside the car, because the dog was to be treated at the veterinary.
Suddenly I saw the dog moving closer to the baby and I shouted for
help when the dog opened its teeth and I ran out of the car to call
madam but she did not come on time".
Family sources said that the house wife had been married for 3 years
without a baby before she took in and was delivered of Chinonso.

In a swift reaction, the husband of the woman , who did not want his
name on the print said amidst tears ,"my wife said it is the devil's
work and the devil's work will take her out of my house. I have warned
her about the dog when I noticed that the dog had been behaving
funny. She still kept carrying the dog claiming that she was going to
give treatment to the dog. This is how the devil had ruined her".

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

What kind of mother is this, at 37 and after 3 years of barrenness?
Why couldn't she carry the baby on her back while shopping? Why must
she carry a rabid dog with people in the car in the first place?

Why did the nanny run out without carrying the baby? Anyway, I don't
blame her as much as the mother. Why should she risk her life with
rabies trying to save a baby the mother doesn't value?

The fruit of disobedience

A man had two wives. One of his sons grew stubborn. His stubborn
behaviour got him expelled from school and from apprenticeship. His
father took him to the farm one day to learn palm wine tapping.
Unfortunately, the father fell off a tree and died. He immediately
removed his father's eyes, wrapped them in leaves and presented them
to his mother and his stepmother as the rats he promised them.

They examined the "rats" with suspicion but were eventually convinced
to eat them. He declined their invitation to eat with them. Halfway
through the the meal, he confessed, singing:

Má ba tèlè lára mọ......................teele
Má ba bàbá r'óko......................teele
Bàbá já lulẹ̀, o kú.......................teele
Ìyáálé jojú ọkọ rẹ̀.......................teele
Ìyàwó jojú ọkọ rẹ̀.......................teele

They chased him with sticks until a cream-seller came to his rescue.
She took him home and told him never to mix cream with her food. He
agreed ,for a while. One day, he flouted the rule and sang (including
his previous mischief):

Má ba tèlè lára mọ......................teele
Má ba bàbá r'óko......................teele
Bàbá já lulẹ̀, o kú.......................teele
Ìyáálé jojú ọkọ rẹ̀.......................teele
Ìyàwó jojú ọkọ rẹ̀.......................teele
Ìyá aládìí f'àdí mùkọ...................teele

She chased him into the hands of an arbitrating old woman, who took him
home and forbade him to mix her fallen hair with her food. He
eventually disobeyed and sang:

Má ba tèlè lára mọ......................teele
Má ba bàbá r'óko......................teele
Bàbá já lulẹ̀, o kú.......................teele
Ìyáálé jojú ọkọ rẹ̀.......................teele
Ìyàwó jojú ọkọ rẹ̀.......................teele
Ìyá aládìí f'àdí mùkọ...................teele
Ìyá'rúgbó jẹ'run orí ẹ̀..................teele

She chased him into the hands of a Muslim priest, who took him home
and forbade him to give him pig meat to eat. He eventually disobeyed
and sang:

Má ba tèlè lára mọ......................teele
Má ba bàbá r'óko......................teele
Bàbá já lulẹ̀, o kú.......................teele
Ìyáálé jojú ọkọ rẹ̀.......................teele
Ìyàwó jojú ọkọ rẹ̀.......................teele
Ìyá aládìí f'àdí mùkọ...................teele
Ìyá'rúgbó jẹ'run orí ẹ̀..................teele
Ààfáà jẹ'ran ẹlẹ́dẹ̀......................teele

The Muslim priest chased him out and Death met them and took him in.
Death warned him never to cook for him the uppermost slice of a yam.
He disobeyed one day and sang:

Má ba tèlè lára mọ......................teele
Má ba bàbá r'óko......................teele
Bàbá já lulẹ̀, o kú.......................teele
Ìyáálé jojú ọkọ rẹ̀.......................teele
Ìyàwó jojú ọkọ rẹ̀.......................teele
Ìyá aládìí f'àdí mùkọ...................teele
Ìyá'rúgbó jẹ'run orí ẹ̀..................teele
Ààfáà jẹ'ran ẹlẹ́dẹ̀......................teele
Ikú jẹ'ṣu àpárí......................teele

Death decided to punish him secretly. Death gave him a white blanket
(and his roommates black blankets), for easy identification at night.
He suspected and exchanged blankets with a roommate who had already
slept, and Death killed the innocent boy. Another innocent boy was
killed when Death gave him a black blanket (and his roommates white
blankets). But Death caught up with him one afternoon and killed him.
